BY ZACH TOOMBS After 36 years as a US Senator, Indiana Republican Dick Lugar faces a significant primary challenge from a Tea Party favorite. Fox News reports the NRA and Citizens United have both thrown their weight behind Indiana treasurer Richard Mourdock — and Tea Party activists are on the ground for him. “Supplementing Mourdock’s own get out the vote effort is Hoosier for a conservative Senate, made up of over 50 Indiana Tea Party groups now fanning out around the state.” “Meanwhile, the Lugar campaign has been burning up phone lines looking for votes.” A poll conducted by Citizens United last week shows Mourdock with a five-point lead over the veteran Lugar. The Washington Post says that poll is “part of what seems to be a steady trend in Mourdock’s favor.” And a heavy conservative endorsement for Mourdock on Friday could tip the scales. Indiana’s WTHR has it. “New this morning, Sarah Palin throwing her conservative clout behind Indiana treasurer Richard Mourdock …” “The former candidate for vice president and Tea Party icon calls the Mourdock — calls Mourdock, rather, the conservative choice over US Senator Richard Lugar.” The 80-year-old Lugar is relying on a few big-name endorsements of his own, relying on well-established GOP figures like Indiana Gov. Mitch Daniels and Sen. John McCain. “I’m not for Dick Lugar because of what he’s done but because of what he can do. Our nation faces huge dangers, and it’ll take people with his big-picture vision and broad …

Mike Papantonio talks about how racism is driving the Tea Party candidates’ campaigns with blogger and author Chauncey DeVega.

The corporations created a monster. That monster is a group of ideologues who’ve wormed their way into Congress – and now have the power to take down our entire economy and condemn all of us to a second Great Depression. Make no mistake about it – we have an established Third Party in Congress today for the first time in over 100 years – the Tea Party zombies. It’s a third party based in political naivete – irresponsible idealism – and corrupted morality. It’s a third party that thinks compromise is a bad word – that thinks if they yell and threaten enough they can get the Democratically-controlled Senate and White House to bend to their will. It’s a party that thinks it’s on a mission to crash the economy – thus setting the stage to drastically remake America and trash the New Deal-economics that have created the last century’s prosperity – and replace it with a libertarian free-market that has defined the last century of, for example, Somalia. It’s a third party that believes in morality – that the poor – the sick – and the elderly should be condemned to death – that the socially safety net – one of the greatest accomplishments of modern man – is evil. Do you know why John Boehner had to pull his debt-limit plan off the floor? It’s because the Tea Party went nuts over Pell Grants. As in-no-way-no-how will they support a bill that helps students go to college. We can no longer believe that the Tea Party is controlled by Republicans – the Tea Party is on its own now …

A poll was conducted by Public Religion Research Institute in partnership with the Religion News Service of just over 1000 people. Both the Tea Party & occupy movement . . . . . Icomment and talk about things that I have a strong feeling about. I am a reg. Indp. voter. I am not a Dem., Rep. or tea party member. So I owe nothing to any political party. I am not here to please or support anyone! My ancestors came from Ireland, England, Germany & Scotland. I am “American” since this is where “I” was born. I love the lands where my ancestors came from, but I will never say that I am – XYZ-American. American is where I was born & American I am. End of discussion on that. I will say exactly what I want & I will make any video on any subject that I want. For you simple minded midgets who come here to play the (“Race Card”) – shove it up your butt & choke on it. Get a damn job, get off welfare & get out of the ghetto you lazy bums. I (can not) be scared away by cursing threats from some small mined moron troll. So go ahead and waste your life with your threats if you want. I do not go to any other channel cursing or threatening the owner. I never will. It is stupid & a waste of time. I could care less about any moron who does this & it only shows how ignorant that – you were raised. You trolls do not scare anyone & you only show just how desperate you all really are. I and about 99.9999% of the world laugh at your stupidity. Trolls that do this or try to do this – are small …
