“Banning same-sex marriage in Iowa was the focus of a rally here Saturday.
About 35 people gathered at the Mid-America Center to hear speeches from State Rep. Kim Pearson, R-Pleasant Hill, and Danny Carroll, lobbyist for the group Family Leader.
‘I’m a Christian, social, fiscal conservative,” Pearson said. “The social and fiscal conservative values work.’
…
Three judges on the Iowa Supreme Court who were part of the 2009 ruling that found the state’s same-sex marriage ban unconstitutional were removed in November retention votes.
Pearson has joined with Reps. Tom Shaw of Laurens and Glen Massie of Des Moines to draft legislation for impeachment proceedings against the remaining four judges.
The rally was sponsored by the Des Moines-based Iowa Conservative Alliance and its subsidiary, the Iowa Tea Party. Organizer Ryan Rhodes said they held the event in Council Bluffs to encourage people to hold Gronstal accountable.”

Because few know what the word means and fewer TP followers care.
The GOP has advanced by lying, smearing and making stuff up. Since their “supporters” do not have the intellectual capacity or curiosity to actually check what they say (death panels) they roll along in their ignorance.
TP – read the Bill of Rights, you will learn something.

Question: Tea Party holds anti same sex marriage rally in Nebraska, who is still calling the tea party “libertarian?
So how does seeing the tea party taking stands on social issues such as gay marriage and abortion square with the “libertarian” label?
Do you think the average tea partier even knows what the concept of libertarianism means?

Question: What do you as a Republican, Democrat, Libertarian or Independent think of the rise of the “Tea Party”?
Answer:
Answer by eazyeee888
Remember the green party, same destiny. Actually might be better for Reps because most of the right fringe could go with it and the real conservatives can run the Rep party again.
But the majority of these people will vote Rep though. Im sure this admin. hopes a new party results from this so they can steal some votes to help them stay in office, which from the looks of it, is a long shot.
Question: What does the real Boston Tea Party, the libertarian one, think about the Fox News “tea parties” of April 15?
About 2 or 3 years ago, a few Libertarians founded political party called the “Boston Tea Party” whose entire platform is this: “The Boston Tea Party supports reducing the size, scope and power of government at all levels and on all issues, and opposes increasing the size, scope and power of government at any level, for any purpose.”
Does anyone know what they think about the rip off of their name?
Answer:
Answer by Laissez-Faire Guy
Both rip off the name of an actual historical event. in fact the Libertarian one is worse because it rips off the name verbatim.
At least the recent Tea Parties were more generic with the term.
