Question: Why do “Tea Party” folks fail to see who the real ememy is?
It is not the government, it is not “Liberals,” I mean how many liberal ideas have made their own lives better? The true enemy is the greedy corporate elite class who have robbed the middle class blind over the last thirty years. They have taken their jobs, shipped them overseas, they have paid off the politicians to get the rules of finance twisted almost 100% in their favor. They took tax payer money and did not use it for what they were supposed to use it for. Instead they used it to secure their own bonuses.
The enemy is this sick version of so called “Capitalisim” and “Free markets” that was sold to you starting in the Reagan years. Bill Clinton is just as guilty, don’t get me wrong.
To blame all of this on Barack Obama is laughable. Why don’t right wingers ever scream about corporate welfare?
Gee Bob J, such an answer of “substance.” What is the matter, did you forget to listen to Rush today?
Uh Glock,
Limbaugh has brainwashed you well. Even Alan Greenspan says the idea “low income folks” caused the housing crisis is absurd. It was caused by low six figure Yuppie types buying three times the home they could afford on ARM mortgages.
I seem to recall your boy Bush running for re-lelection in 2004 bragging about all of the “new home owners” his programs had created.
Uh Bi Polar,
What you described is NOT
free market. In fact, there is no such thing as a “free market.” Governments have always made the rules of the market.
Joseph B,
What your pals on Wall Street and what yourparty sells as “free market” is in truth corporate socialsim. Turn Rush off and learn.
“How Would I Know” Who in the world told you that we pay the “Highest corporate tax rates in the woprld?” In fact, after DEDUCTIONS American companies pay amonf the LOWEST.
Pplease turn Limbaugh, and Hannity off for a while and get some real facts.

RIck Santelli discussing Obama’s Mortgage Plan
“The banks and the corporations had a simple plan: to remake America to serve them. But pulling it off would require electing a spokesmodel as president. And on November 4th, 1980, that’s what we did.” — Michael Moore

Question: Why are there “Tea Party” rallies against abortion when the real Boston Tea Partiers were pro-choice?
Tea partiers refer to themselves with an obvious reference to the Boston Tea Party and they talk about the constitution constantly, as if the US founding fathers agreed with them on abortion and other political issues. Most seem to believe that abortion had never been legal in the US prior to Roe V Wade and that the founding fathers opposed abortion.
The reality of US history is that the first laws against abortion were passed around 1890, along with bans on pornography and contraceptives at the same time (Which should offer a hint about the true motivations behind the anti-choice movement)… this was a full century after the constitution was written, and up until then abortions actually were legal in all states. And it wasn’t until 1965 that abortion was actually illegal in all 50 states.
Some Tea Partiers simply claim that abortions didn’t occur back then, that nobody would have had an abortion even without any laws against it. That’s not true either, as one of my sources proves.
So why do they hold “Tea Party” rallies against abortion when the real founding fathers and the real Boston Tea Partiers believed that a woman had the right to choose?

Your source did indicate there were laws against abortion after quickening in colonial times. Quickening happens about 3 weeks before the 3rd trimester.
Even Fox News, a very conservative source, admits to the fact that only 100 abortions per year actually happen in the 3rd trimester:
http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,880,00.html
And I’m pretty sure nearly all of those are done for medical reasons. As much as conservatives try to shift the debate and brainwash everyone into thinking that developed “babies” are being aborted by the millions that is simply not true. The real terms of this debate are about first and second trimester abortions.

>>> The “obvious” reference is that TEA stands for “taxed enough already.”
Hence, the literal bags of Tea that were mailed off to congress. And all those historical Gadsden flags at Tea Party rallies.

>>>There were no laws against abortion back then because people didn’t talk about it.
So, the founding fathers felt abortion was okay because people didn’t talk about it… but if they were still around today, they would feel it should now be illegal…. because people talk about it more often today?
I’m at a loss for words.

The Boston Tea Party was against Big Government….I am pretty sure what is in a woman’s uterus was not even close to what was on their minds….
Question: Which “Tea Party” chapter is the REAL one?
Sort of like the Red Guard, they sure look like for the most part they’ve broken up into warring factions already, battling it out over who holds Chairman Beck’s message best.
So which chapter(s) are the real ones? I want to know so I can find out what their platforms and attitudes really are.
And if you say “Oh they’re all the same and they are not fighting” then you clearly don’t have the resources to see what’s really going on within that “movement”.
Fake, your cause is noble, but my point is that I believe they’re already doing it to themselves.

Question: what was the real reason for us winning the cold war?
Did Ronald Reagan “win” the Cold War? Or, was there something inherently flawed in Soviet-styled communism that doomed the USSR from the beginning?
Answer:
Answer by truth seeker
It was the latter. Ronald Reagan had little or nothing to do with the ending of the cold war.
here are some other reasons for the ending of the cold war:
Gorbachev’s reforms led many soviets citizens to demand more freedoms and an immediate move to capitalism.
Throughout the late 80′s there eastern European nations had movements against their Communist governments. The Soviet Union did not stop them.
Gorbachev and President Bush held a summit meeting at Malta and negotiated important reductions in intermediate range nuclear weapons.
Late in 1989 there was a coup in the Soviet Union. Hard line soviet leaders held Gorbachev hostage. He was “rescued by Boris Yeltsin. The Berlin Wall came down and the Cold War was over.
The Soviet Union broke up into many smaller ethnic nationalities. Some remained together in a loose confederation called the “Russian Confederation.” Boris Yeltsin became the Premier of Russia, a capitalist country with a more or less democratic form of government.
The Soviet Union no longer existed and thus no longer controlled Eastern Europe. In 1990 West Germany and East Germany unified.
Question: What does the real Boston Tea Party, the libertarian one, think about the Fox News “tea parties” of April 15?
About 2 or 3 years ago, a few Libertarians founded political party called the “Boston Tea Party” whose entire platform is this: “The Boston Tea Party supports reducing the size, scope and power of government at all levels and on all issues, and opposes increasing the size, scope and power of government at any level, for any purpose.”
Does anyone know what they think about the rip off of their name?
Answer:
Answer by Laissez-Faire Guy
Both rip off the name of an actual historical event. in fact the Libertarian one is worse because it rips off the name verbatim.
At least the recent Tea Parties were more generic with the term.
