Question: Tea party: “take the power away from the unions and give it to the taxpayers” what does THAT mean?
Them out there with those Wisconsin protesters. I’m glad tea party people want to be heard there.

But one of them just said to a camera “It’s time to take the power from the unions and give it to the taxpayers”.

WHAT does THAAT mean???

Is the tea party actually against the existence of Unons?

Should firefighters and police have unions, just not teachers and sanitary workers?

What sense does that make?

I thought i agreed with both groups of protesters till i heard that generalized statement. I am for a state making its workers pay more if it really wants that. Not killing union rights just because they are powerful and support someone else’s candidates.

If its based on genuine principle that’s a different argument. And I want to hear it. I’m still open to it.

It seems pretty obvious to me what it means.
Unions once had their place but now they are pretty much like parasites, feeding on a healthy host until it dies.

Question: If we were to go to war with Iran, would you take up arms to defend your country?
First, I’d like to clarify that I believe Afghanistan is a military occupation, not a war.

Considering that a war with Iran would require a major commitment of troops in all branches of military, would you enlist? I plan on enlisting as an officer in the United States Air Force after getting my bachelor’s from Vanderbilt, and establishing myself in the workplace for 1 to 2 years.

I am not a liberal, I’m conservative. I hate Obama’s policies, but in a time of war, our country needs committed patriots to fight and protect it. I’ll close with a few quotes from some of our greatest presidents and patriots.

No I would not. We do not need to be in any wars. We need to protect our borders and ports and get our noses out of the worlds business.

Question: How seriously should Obama take the “tea party” demonstrations?
How seriously should Bush have taken anti-war protesters? Should Bush have done more than say he doesn’t base his policies on “focus groups” (his name for the hundreds of thousands of protesters).
If you think Bush and Obama should deal with protesters differently, please elaborate. Thanks.

Nope, Obama should take these protesters exactly the same as Bush did.

Why should he not? These protestors now are the same people who were supporting Bush when he ignored protesters then. So they should be encouraging Obama to ignore them if they’re not hypocrits.
